School Initiatives

School Initiatives creates meaningful appreciation and study of artworks through close observation, hands-on art-making, and arts integration to make connections with core school subjects. The program works with schools to develop a curriculum that makes art an integral part of lesson planning in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science.

This program, available to all Miami-Dade County public and private elementary through middle schools, offers a more in-depth experience for students to engage with art. The program offers an initial presentation for students at their school followed by a tour of ICA's exhibitions and a collaborative art-making intensive.
